Millenium Sunset over Gurteen Bay

More about Roundstone

Dogs Bay and Gurteen Beach, set back and filled with the clearest Atlantic water can be enjoyed in this area (2 miles from Roundstone.) Not only can the beaches be enjoyed from the swimmers and other aquatic water sports point of view, but to those that are interested, the sand is pure white, as it is not formed of quartz grain but of shells exclusively. Apart from the
beauty of the area we also have a great deal more to offer.

One can hire our famous Connemara ponies for short or long treks and there is also very good schooling for the beginner. We have some wonderful walks on the one of the Twelve Pins (guided or at your own pace) and the hiring of bicycles to go along our very quiet roads.

In the village itself, there are lots of B&Bs, guest houses, hotels and pubs with traditional music most evenings, and of course some excellent restaurants.

For the young who like to indulge in sport, we offer tennis courts, basket ball, badminton and a football pitch.

So as you can see, we try to cater for all our visitors. You will be made most welcome to Roundstone and have a great holiday. Browse around and have a good look and see what we have to offer, you will be most pleasantly surprised
