Roundstone News 10th October

Not a lot for you this week, but having said that Roundstone seems to be still reasonably busy with visitors even in this awful wet weather.

Master Jack O’Neil:
We had a lovely local event yesterday it was the christening of master Jack O’Neil, son of Pat O’Neil and Noleen, and after the church ceremony every body went back to the Roundstone House Hotel for some drinks and a wonderful buffet, then Bracken played some music in the afternoon, I feel there is nothing nicer than a local event when the local people of the community comes together.

We now have purchased the domain name www.roundstone.ie and is up and running, this one will be much easier to remember.

RDC:
Two members of the development council met up with Emer Dolan who is the enterprise officer with Galway County Council, to discuss enterprise ideas and discussed a town plan to be prepared and getting it high on the agenda for Roundstone.

Emer suggested that a needs analysis highlighting the most important of five or six of the most important issues relating to Roundstone as well as water and sewage this would make our case very strong with the town planners with Galway County Council, in fact we have a draught survey circulating, and these will be collected up in a week or two then Cathy Keane from Forum has very kindly agreed to facilitate a work shop with these important issues in early November, and then they will be presented to the Galway County Council for the preparation of a town plan.

News Letter:
I mentioned last week about the forth coming newsletter, well this is well on its way, with topics such as Roundstone Marina update, progress of the refurbishment of the community Hall, the on going work of the fair green, Tidy Town results, planning matters, tourism and the revival of the Roundstone Pony Show, we will also have for viewing documentation re the Marina project for Roundstone.
