Ann’s Roundstone News 7th May 2012

Roundstone was relatively busy for the May bank holiday week-end with a lot of the regular faces round and about. The Market made a return yesterday and that always adds a bit of a festive appearance to the village. Although because it is early days and some stall were missing there was still a good turn out. The Crepes, cheese, jams cakes, veg. and plant stalls doing a brisk business. It is really lovely to see them back and next week we have the added bonus of having a CAR BOOT sale as well and the girls Barbara and Mary T. King are still taking bookings for that. The Hall will open at 8am for the stall holders but 11 am to 4pm for the public. And a bargain is on the cards if you come along.

Roundstone News March 12th 2012

Things are beginning to happen in Roundstone as we warm up for the forthcoming tourist season, what with the build up for St Patrick’s Day Parade for this coming Saturday. The village is covered in banners and flags, in preparation for the day and the village is getting a real spring clean. I am sure the committee would like me to thank Pious and Paul Delapp and Patrick on their behalf for their great work on hanging the banners and flags.

Roundstone News 27th February 2012

District Nurse: Dr Aonghus Flavin has been given official news from the HSE yesterday that Marilyn Kelly will be the new Public Health Nurse for 3 days a week. It is only since yesterday that the position is absolutely confirmed. Aonghus has spoken with Marilyn Kelly today and she has already been on some calls. Marilyn worked here for about 4 years between 1988 and 1992 so she knows the area well. Aonghus feels that the area will have satisfactory cover with this arrangement. In the event that there are calls on the other 2 days, the Clifden PHN and I will be able to cover. Aonghus would really like to thank everybody for their efforts to bring this to fruition. We also thank you Aonghus
