Kings Gallery & Studio is located on Roundstones Main street between the two Quays. Open seasonally or by appointment .

Yvonne King is from Roundstone in Connemara where painting the beauty of the west of Ireland is her passion. Water is a recurring theme in her work- the sea, lakes and rivers under ever changing skies, as are the mountains and bog lands particular to the area. She paints with oils, watercolour, acrylics and pastel.


Painting is a vital part of my life and Connemara is magical, providing me with endless inspiration. I feel very lucky to live and work in such a beautiful and wild landscape.’
Yvonne King has studied oil painting and drawing in the studio of the renowned wildlife and portrait artist Douglas Anderson RP since 2008. In November of that year she had lessons in Chinese painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hong Kong. In 2005 she received a Diploma with merit in Painting & Drawing from the London Art College. She has taken art classes with Kenneth Webb, Michael O’ Dea and Brenda Mattson and is a member of The Society for all Artists. Her paintings are in collections in many countries.


Since completing a course in Jewellery Craft & Design in 1996 Yvonne King is registered with the Assay office of Ireland in Dublin Castle. She uses a variety of quality materials including freshwater pearls, Connemara marble, silver and gemstones to make necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Strands of freshwater pearls hand knotted on silk are a speciality and are ideal for special occasions.
