Regatta Mass; Unfortunately we were unable to have the mass on the pier, owing to the weather, however Father Jarleth has agreed to have a Pier Mass on the feast of the Assumption 15th August which is a Monday at 12pm, so we will just keep our fingers crossed for better weather.
Bank Holiday: Next week end is the August bank holiday, golly where dose the time go, however the first event on this Saturday coming up is with Rosie Mc Gurran who is celebrating ten years in Roundstone by having a private viewing at 7pm in her studio of her new work, with an opening by Ruari Quinn TD Minister for Education and Skills and an introduction from Maeve Mulrennan, Maeve is the Visual Arts Officer in the Galway Arts centre I have to say Rosie has contributed a lot in the visual arts, promoting Roundstone as an artistic venue and keeping its most famous artists names alive, of course just for starters her Innishlaken project.
Roundstone Dog show: Monday 1st August is the All Ireland Dog show, on the show grounds Farrell’s road, which promise’s to be a spectacular day, fashion show, best dressed lady and man on the day and lots more to suit adults and the kids. Kick off is at 1pm. Then the dogs will be paraded through the village afterwards. So just pray the day will be bathed in sunshine on this spectacular site of Paddy the Yanks.
